This ceremony is conducted to formally declare the intent for the bride and groom to be wed. An auspicious date and time for the nuptials is determined. During the ceremony, the couple exchanges rings and the bride receives gifts of jewelry, attire, and silverware. These are presented by the mother of the groom as blessings for the marriage. Our Telugu wedding photography team captures every beautiful moment right from your engagement.
The Pellikuturu ceremony typically occurs one or two days prior to the wedding at the home of the bride. During this ritual, a paste made from flour and turmeric along with aromatic oils is applied to the bride’s body. This is followed by a sacred bath using water infused with turmeric. It is to cleanse both the body and mind before undertaking the solemn ritual of marriage.
Here’s the picture of the Pellikoduku ceremony beautifully captured by our Telugu wedding photography team. The Pellikoduku ceremony traditionally occurs one or two days before the wedding at the groom’s home. As part of this ritual, a paste made from flour and turmeric along with aromatic oils is applied to the groom’s body. This is followed by a sacred bath using water infused with turmeric. The purpose of the Pellikoduku ritual is to purify both the body and mind of the groom before the wedding ceremony.
The Mangala Snanam ceremony refers to the holy bath that the bride and groom undertake on the morning of their wedding day. An auspicious time is selected for this ritual to commence. As our Telugu wedding photography team has knowledge about rituals, every single frame will be captured with a keen eye.
During the ceremony, the bride and groom are taken for ceremonial baths. Once the bathing concludes, the wedding attire for the bride and groom is provided as they are dressed in their first ensemble for the marriage rituals. Having completed the Mangala Snanam, the bride and groom are then able to participate in the remaining wedding ceremonies and rituals.
Followed by Snathakam, Brahmin boys were sent to sages to study the scriptures in ancient times. Upon their return, they would perform the Snathakam for groom’s ceremony, marking the completion of their education. It signifies their readiness to embrace new responsibilities, such as starting a family.
The most fun part of the wedding our Telugu wedding photography team enjoys capturing is Kashi Yatra. The prospective groom enacts this long-standing tradition by feigning his intention to renounce worldly pleasures, creating a beautiful scene. And embark on a journey to the city of Kashi. In this ritual, the bride’s brother intervenes and persuades the groom to marry his sister instead.
Once the groom agrees to the union, he is warmly received by the bride’s family. This ceremonial custom is a lighthearted way for the groom to symbolically leave behind a single life and take on the commitments of marriage.
Followed by Ganesh puja (performed by groom ) & Gauri pooja (by bride).
The groom’s parents wash the feet of the bride and give her hand to him in this ritual. The groom promises to love, respect, and protect her. This is one of the most emotional rituals, which our Telegu wedding photography team will beautifully curate.
The bride and groom place a paste made from ground cumin seeds and jaggery (unrefined cane sugar) on their hands during the ceremony. The timing of this ritual is of utmost importance and takes place only at the most auspicious moment. At the precise muhurtham, or astrologically determined time, the couple places this paste on each other’s heads while their hands remain covered by a curtain separating them.
This symbolic act represents the couple standing by each other’s side through both the bitter and sweet phases of married life.
Undoubtedly ,one of the most beautiful parts of the Telugu wedding that every photography team loves is capturing is Mangalsutram. Once the curtain separating the bride and groom is lifted, the groom ties a sacred yellow thread, adorned with haldi (turmeric), around the bride’s neck in three knots. They symbolize their mental, physical, and spiritual union through this ritual.
Following Mangalsutram, there are a few other important rituals such as Talambralu, Pradhanam, Kanyadan Akshata , Sthaalipaakam and Nakshatram Saptapadi.
